Jeffrey Thomas Roberts, The Tacticool Phony SEAL – Guardian Of Valor

MURFREESBORO, TN – Jeffery Thomas Roberts

There are a lot of things you just DON’T do in ole Rocky Top.

You don’t play “Sweet Home Alabama” at Vols stadium. EVER!

You do not EVER besmirch the name of Elvis

And you DO NOT EVER pretend to be a Navy S.E.A.L..

Obviously Jeffrey Roberts never got that memo.

Jeffrey Thomas Robert is 50 Years old, served in the U.S. Navy as a GM2. He was NEVER a S.E.A.L., and he never went through BUDs. For 9 years Jeffrey lived this lie. He carefully created a world where he was a member of various S.E.A.L. teams. He started a company, Zero Sum Solutions LLC, held charity shooting events, took thousands in donations, even helped a little girl with a school project on “Operation Red Wing” providing his SEAL Trident, Name Tapes, and a challenge coin. Jeffrey submitted an over 14 chapter “Autobiography” about his life as a S.E.A.L., which reads like a made up world of danger and international intrigue; it is a Bad James Bond film mixed with the movie “Navy S.E.A.L.S” starring Charlie Sheen and Bill Paxton.

Jeffrey has held many charity shooting events over the last 9 years. One man, Alex, told investigators that while he never gave Jeffrey money, he did offer his professional website design skills to his company Zero Sum Solutions LLC free of charge. Alex told the investigators that he got all kinds of training and advice from Jeffrey, from weapons retention, Dope charts, and on multiple occasions he told Alex how he was involved with the S.E.A.L.s and didn’t “Dumb Down” training or drills.

Alex told us that Jeffrey got upset with him when he questioned about his shooting events. Questions such as: How was Jeffrey the Range Master, Judge, RO, and managed to come in first in his own class? How did his girlfriend coincidentally finish first in hers? I’d call this cheating.

When Jeff had brought up Coronado CA, Alex tried to connect by mentioning several well known landmarks to which Jeff was unfamiliar.

Richard, Another Veteran that Jeffrey befriended at the range tried to relate to Jeffrey by discussing Iraq, since Jeffrey had told him he was a member of the teams and had served in Iraq. Richard told Jeff his BRT unit had worked alongside team 5, and if Jeff knew anything about it. Jeff deflected and talked about recovering drones in Africa, and how he was a diplomatic attaché in Baghdad.

Doc donated thousands to Jeffrey’s charity, and gave additional large amount of money for Jeffrey to buy tee-shirts, steel shooting targets etc, based solely on Jeff’s reputation as a Navy S.E.A.L.

The worst of this, however, is pretty low in my opinion. Jeff had reached out to a writer he knew, that had used his picture in a few articles about Veterans, and tried shopping a 14 -18 chapter Autobiography (insert book link here.) He built a friendship with this writer and their daughter. The daughter was working on a project for school on operation RED WING, and Jeff was more than happy to be a stand up hero and contribute. He sent his challenge coin, S.E.A.L. team 2 Patch, Name Tapes, Trident, and some kind words.

Don Shipley has confirmed that Jeffrey was never a S.E.A.L. and never went through BUDs.

Jeffrey went to great lengths to create this. From the look, for which he did a few photo shots and was even used in a company’s ad because he had the “operator” look, to the basic talk.

In my opinion this guy seemed to be trying to emulate Chris Kyle and Marcus Luttrell. From the way he wore his carefully landscaped “operator” facial hair, to his choice in shirts, necklace’s, and head gear, he actively tried to look the part. He even had a S.E.A.L. trident tattoo on his right arm. Some people did custom gun work on his personal weapons because he claimed he was a S.E.A.L. and that the triggers “weren’t like the ones on the teams.”

As of this publication (November 4, 2015), Stolen Valor Investigators spoke with Jeffrey. He was like the others. He broke down, apologized, and cried. This man, confronted by his 9 years of lies, finally broke and admitted that he had lied. He said that he had done so to help veterans, and never corrected people when they assumed him to be a S.E.A.L. based on his “reputation”.

I do not know how many people were hurt by this, and we are still getting information. What is known is that this man had opportunity after opportunity to do the right thing and chose to capitalize on his claims. Many people enjoy helping fellow veterans, non military as well. This man lied, manipulated and schemed to defraud good people. Regardless of his intentions he has EARNED, his place here on the Wall of Shame, unlike that fake Trident tattoo on his arm.
