On February 24, 2009 Army Wife Nicki Bunting received the devastating news that her husband, Capt. Brian “Bubba” Bunting was killed in action in Kandahar, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. Also killed along with Capt. Bunting were, Sergeant Schuyler B. Patch, 25, of Owasso Oklahoma, Sergeant Scott B. Stream, 39, of Mattoon, Illinois and Sergeant Daniel J. Thompson, 24, of Madison, Wis.
