Fox News reports that Jane Fonda has told the Veterans that are calling for a boycott to her upcoming movie to “Get a Life.” Jane was cast as former First Lady Nancy Reagan in Lee Daniels’ forthcoming film “The Butler.”

The movie also boasts some other well know actors, like John Cusack who plays Richard Nixon, Robin Williams as Dwight Eisenhower, Forest Whitaker as Cecil Gaines, and even Lenny Kravitz as James Holloway.

The movie’s plot takes a look at the life of Eugene Allen, who served under eight presidents as the White House’s head butler from 1952 to 1986, and had a unique front-row seat as political and racial history was made.

But Reagan fans were not pleased. Now, with the biographical due to hit theaters in October, a movement to boycott the movie is gaining some momentum according to Fox. Larry Reyes, a Navy Veteran founded the Facebook page Boycott Hanoi Jane Playing Nancy Reagan, has been very vocal about the casting decision.

“Growing up in a military family I heard my father and uncles talk about what Jane did, so from an early age I knew about her history with the war and how upset veterans were about it. Yet it amazed me that people just turned their backs and kept supporting her exercise videos and movies. I made a commitment early on not to support her projects,” Reyes told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column.

“Then when I heard she was going to play such a well-liked and highly respected president’s wife, it got to me. They (the filmmakers) knew by picking Jane for the part they were going to stir up some stuff. I’m not a conservative or a liberal, I’m an American. And that was a slap in the face.”

This week, Fonda had a simple message for Reyes and the page’s fans.

“Get a life.”

In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Fonda said of her casting: “If it creates hoopla, it will cause more people to see the movie… I figured it would tweak the right. Who cares?” ~Courtesy Fox News.com

You can read more about the movie here: The Butler

So I was not even born when the Vietnam war was going on, but my father served three tours, and he can not stand to even hear her name spoken around him. He told me the stories, and he told me of how he was treated when he returned home from the war. These wounds are still fresh to our Vietnam Vets, Jane may think they have forgotten. But I can assure you, these Veterans do not forget, and will not forgive something like that.

Well I don’t know about you, but I am going to “Get A Life” and it will not be watching this movie. Although I believe the movie’s plot and characters are great, and i would love to see it, with her attitude towards Vets among other things, I will read the book.

Thanks to all of our Veterans and currently serving Military it is my right to not see this movie, as it is her’s to speak as she see fits.

Our friends over at thisainthell are also on the same sheet of music as we are, you can see the response they have here:Hanoi Jane To Vets: Get a Life

So whether you decide to see the movie or not, it is your choice. But I can assure you, my Father and I will probably be watching something along the lines of “Band Of Brothers”

And for our younger generation who may have not seen the photos that gave her the name “Hanoi Jane” here they are.
