Fallen Warriors have their Pictures and Identities Stolen on Facebook

We were contacted yesterday by several fans, including the widow of one of our Fallen Warriors, about a facebook page that had stolen their Pictures and used their Fallen Heroes identitites on facebook. We checked out the profile and realized that this person had stolen not one, but two Fallen Heroes identeties. That of Sgt. Richard Allen Vaughn, who was killed in action on April 7, 2008 in fighting in Sadr City, Baghdad Iraq, he was 22 years old. You can see his memorial here- Sgt. Richard Vaughn Memorial And also the pictures of Sgt. Paul E. Dumont Jr. who was killed August 19, 2009, at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident. Usually with frauds like this Facebook is very quick to respond, most fraudelent profiles we posted in the past are down within minutes, some have taken an hour or two. We used all our contacts through facebook, we are affiliated with over 20 Military oriented pages, including US Infantry and US Army WTF Moments. Between all of us I assure you we had well over 500,000 people notified of the incident. And thousands responded, reporting to facebook that this profile was not only fradulent, but using the pictures of our Fallen Comrades in arms. Facebook, as of 1200hrs on 21Aug2012 has yet to respond to anyone or remove this profile. We started this campaign yesterday at around 1500hrs, so a total of 20hrs ago.

Not only is this profile degrading the Honor and Valor of these two Heroes, and placing additional and undo pain and suffering on the families, it also seems the profile owner’s best friend is from Herat, Afghanistan. This leads me to believe one of two things, either he is mocking the Fallen Warriors, or he is using the site to try and obtain information for our enemies, which is a national security threat in my eyes.

Here is the profile link to the page in question, followed by snapshots we have taken in case he decides to start another in the future. We have removed the faces of the children to protect them and their family.

Facebook Stolen Identity UPDATE: PROFILE REMOVED AFTER POSTING OF THIS STORY.

Here is the link to the person he calls his bestfriend, this person says they are from Herat, Afghanistan, which furthers my suspicion that it may be a spy page. And he may also be the person who started the page.

All the other photos can be seen below in the gallery, we will not let this stand as it is not only a desecration to our Fall memory, but an insult to their families. We owe it to these two families to protect them from crap like this, their husbands would expect that from us! ~Bulldog1

UPDATE: PROFILE WAS FINALLY REMOVED SOON AFTER POSTING OF THIS STORY. WE WILL LEAVE THIS STORY UP AS A WARNING TO OTHERS THAT WOULD DO THE SAME. WE ARE WATCHING YOU!
