He was arrested after the mother contacted real Army recruiters and they told her she had been scammed. Police arrested Rivas and two teenage boys on suspicion of grand theft and conspiracy to commit theft by false pretense. The victim told police the man identified himself as Capt. The victim and her mother paid the money to Rivas, in hope it would benefit their son and grandson. The boy’s mother reported the incident to police last Wednesday after she spoke with real recruiters.

We found Rivas’s Facebook page, and he posted the photo of him in the fake uniform as his profile picture. He also posted in his work that he was stationed at Fort. Irwin.

Several commenter’s actually thought he had joined the Army, that is until his arrest. Even after he was arrested, and some starting calling him out, others protected him. One commenter went as far as to threaten another for calling him out.

As you can see in the below screenshot, in comments made publicly, Jeff makes a very good point on the subject. However, Lakey decides to threaten Jeff because he doesn’t support the alleged crime Rivas has committed.

Rivas pleaded not guilty in court on Thursday to a felony grand theft charge and is due back in court August 13th.  We checked with the Army and confirmed that Rivas has never served, we will update this story as we get more information.
