Bruce A. PENDLAY: The fake Special Forces guy who accidentally shot himself, on purpose.

Mr. Bruce Allen PENDLAY.

There’s nothing new here. No need exists to schedule further outrage, this a docket post: A collection and living document for us here at Guardian of Valor. Thanks to the efforts of our colleagues at Green Beret Posers Exposed, and a few others I know I missed.

The best predictor of future performance is past performance, and there may still be more PENDLAY performances. They will be written about here.

For a number of years, we have been entertained by the antics of PENDLAY. Long story short, he did nothing in the Army, yet after he killed the Predator back in 1987, he had a rough time adjusting to civilian life.

PENDLAY did serve in the guard, from May to August 1985, and then attempted active duty from January to April 1987.

He was discharged as a Private First Class. He is not a Green Beret.

Who knows how it started…yet somehow PENDLAY needed to be more than he was.

’85 – ’91 PENDLAY listed himself as SF Weapons Sgt, 5th Special Forces Group.

The lies became his truth and grew. In 2014, PENDLAY was elected the Senior Vice Commander of the State of Kansas 3rd District Veterans of Foreign Wars.

PENDLAY forged a DD214:

Yet as it happens, folks grew suspicious, and everything comes out in the wash.

Here is PENDLAY’s official paperwork:

Lastly, it may be of interest to some that on January 31, 2015, a Cowley County Sheriff’s deputy near Arkansas City, Kansas, discovered a 2011 white Dodge Ram with Bruce Allen PENDLAY inside, suffering from a gun wound to the chest.

PENDLAY, who was under local investigation for inflating his military service record, initially claimed that the shot originated from a dark-colored truck that sped away after the occupant(s) shot him. He was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Upon being admitted, PENDLAY soon admitted that the gunshot wound had been self-inflicted, and a member of the local community expressed concern that PENDLAY had attempted to set the stage for framing him for the “assault.”

PENDLAY received a diversion sentence for his fake gunshot wound,

“The diversion agreement requires that PENDLAY repay law enforcement for the cost of the investigation he prompted by orchestrating the hoax. With court costs and other expenses, that totals over $2,000.

PENDLAY must also complete a two-year diversion program and write a letter of apology to the VFW. Smith said PENDLAY has already repaid the money and written a letter of which Smith received a copy.” (Source

Over the years, PENDLAY was busy.

Eventually, he apologized for his ruse:

“Well I finally got caught, so now I’m sorry”

I’m not sure what DSM-V codes PENDLAY fits. Truthfully, his apology is a big deal, as very seldom do we ever see those from any of these individuals. However, does it really matter?
